Hi, I’m Kay Hockeiser, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) based in Bellingham, Washington.

I help individuals who feel lost in their identity and in their relationships- always giving, over-explaining, questioning themselves, or quietly carrying the weight of everyone else’s needs. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, burnout, people pleasing, or lingering effects of the past that are showing up in adult life.

You might look like you have it all together, but inside feel disconnected from your body, your boundaries, your voice, or your sense of direction. My work is about helping you reconnect with yourself in a way that feels safe, grounded, and true.

My approach is collaborative, and rooted in the belief that healing happens through both insight and embodiment. Through words and movement, I integrate somatic practices, EMDR and mindfulness to support clients in creating new patterns from a place of clarity and choice.

As someone of mixed heritage, I bring a multicultural lens to my practice and value creating space for people to explore the intersections of their identity, culture, and personal history as they work toward wholeness. I’m especially passionate about working with women exploring who they are beyond the roles they’ve been given such as daughters, partners, achievers and caretakers to live more fully for themselves.

With over eight years of experience in community behavioral health, I have worked with individuals with complex mental health needs, including trauma, psychosis and dissociative disorders and co-occurring substance use. I also bring experience in clinical supervision, program development, and systems level care.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, reading, solving puzzles, jumping rope, and practicing yoga.
